Saunders Posture Support
What is a shoulder brace used for?
You may receive a shoulder injury from various things like wear and tear, surgery or a sports injury. When healing from these injuries a shoulder support immobilises your shoulder movement to minimise the pain. There are three main shoulder braces and they are used for different situations. These three are usually shoulder stabilisers, slings, or posture supports. At Athletic Braces we have the latest braces to support you on your way to recovery. If you are unsure about which one is the best for your situation, we advise to seek medical advice.
Shoulder stabiliser
The shoulder stabiliser is a very versatile brace as it can be worn under your everyday clothes. This is great for post operations or for extra support during sport. Shoulder stabilisers limits the movements of the AC joint and minimising pain and the joint from further injury. Common uses for the stabiliser are for rotator cuffs, shoulder separation, shoulder dislocations and strains. See our range of shoulder stabiliser to get you back on your feet.
Sling
An immobilising sling can be used to recover for the shoulder, elbow or wrist injuries. The sling keeps your arm against your body and prevents it from movement which can cause pain. It is important to wear the sling properly as improper use could lead to further injury. Some common mistakes include: the sling is too loose, too tight or the arm is hanging too low. As the sling limits movement, once healed it is important to speak with a physical therapist on strengthening your shoulder and the muscles around the shoulder. Athletic Braces is Australian owned and operated so we will get the sling to you fast.
